Деформация, остающаяся после приложения к образцу определенного уровня растягивающих, сжимающих или сдвиговых напряжений в точно установленный интервал времени и разгрузки за точно установленный интервал времени. При испытаниях на ползучесть — остаточная неупругая деформация после удаления нагрузки, вызвавшей ползучесть. Также, увеличение в длине, выраженное в процентах от первоначальной длины, к которой упругий материал не смог возвратиться после снятия напряжения.
